The recent Equifax hack and other well publicized breaches within health care are alarming, especially for stakeholders in health care. The "dark web" is full of stolen medical records, a market estimated in the billions, with significant costs to consumers as well as fines and legal costs in the millions for custodians of data breached. It may seem that hackers have the advantage, that software vunerabilities outpace HIT professionals' ability to keep pace as well as meet regulatory compliance requirements.

Although the challenges in cybersecurity are formidable, health IT professionals have the capabilities to ensure information can be protected. Join the Philadelphia Health IT Circle on October 19, 2017 to hear from a panel of health cybersecurity experts, interact with others in the Philadelphia Health IT community to share what you and your peers are doing, the challenges you face, and the opportunities you can leverage to be an informed and vigilant custodian of digital health assets.
