Martin Lupinetti brings 25+ years of healthcare-public sector experience providing executive leadership, strategic planning, governance, policy and technology implementation and deployment oversight to a variety of healthcare and public sector entities in the region. His engagement with the HSX effort began in the fall of 2011 in a consulting role through the North Highland Company, in which Martin led development of the initial business plan, governance, and financial sustainability model for HealthShare Exchange.
HealthShare Exchange (HSX) is the health information exchange (HIE) for the greater Philadelphia area and is on the path to becoming one of the greatest digital health asset in the region. HSX has succeeded in breaking down historic boundaries and digitally connecting the greater part of the healthcare ecosystem in and around Philadelphia. Through HSX services, practitioners now have a fuller view of their patients’ health care interactions beyond their hospital or practice. Real time notifications and summary documents of patient encounters flow through HSX for its members engaged in patient treatment and healthcare operations. HSX also enables coordinated care with automated care team finders, a provider directory, and a patient locator service. Opportunities to couple patient data with innovative use cases – for instance, utilizing medical device data - is where the promise of HSX will extend from serving providers to patients and improving population health. Whether you are an innovator, health care provider or just interested in learning more about how to leverage the value of health care information, you won’t want to miss this special event series.
At this event on April 20, the Philadelphia Health IT Circle is pleased to host Martin Lupinetti, Executive Director of HealthShare Exchange, for an interactive and informative crowdsourcing exercise. Martin will provide an overview of HSX's progress to date and the strategy going forward. We will then look to the audience to provide their thoughts on use cases for HSX, including but not limited to medical device interoperability.
At our July event, we will return with a prioritized list of use cases. The PHIT Circle community will discuss and help in preparing formal proposals to bring to HSX for implementation. In this way, PHIT Circle members play a critical role in helping to bring both innovation and energy to leverage the incredible work that has gone into creating the HSX information highway.
